If you are using the TV3D SDK (learner License) And you make a game or demo that you want to show other people, Is it wrong or illegal to include all the the required DLL's with your distribution?

My point is, why should someone who barely knows how to turn on a computer, have to go to the TV3D website and download the devleoper SDK just to play a demo?

I was just wondering if anyone knew about that because I dont.

[EDIT]
Quote:
1. GRANT OF LICENSE
In this license agreement ("License"), TrueVision3D, LLC. ("TrueVision") grants you, the developer, the right to use one copy of the software developers kit entitled "TV3DEngine" ("Software"). You may distribute it to others, provided that the Software is redistributed in it's original unmodified form, no fee is charged for such distribution, and the "TrueVision3D" watermark is displayed during execution of the software.

It looks like it could be interpreted to mean that you can redist the libs just as long as you dont modify them and that the watermark be visible.

But it also could mean that you can redistribute only the entire SDK in its original form. But it wouldnt make sense if you had to include the 33.54 MB SDK setup with your games. Especially if your game is only like 500kb.

ARGH Why do they make these things so hard to read?!?

Yeah, I hate those licenses, they are so complex without a reason.

Why don't you ask it on the forums overthere btw? :)

I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to package the runtime component with your game. That would just be silly. I haven't gotten that far with my game yet so I haven't looked into it. I just assumed there weren't distribution issues.

The DLL files MUST be included (unless someone already has them), and they need to be registered before they are "called" from your program...just liek you had to do to use them.

The "learner license" simply has the TV3D logo (watermark) in the corner at render, and it can't be disabled. The commercial license(s) allow the developer to disable the watermark. THAT is the difference.

In short, there is no copyright issue, as the DLL files are a needed part of the engine.

Good enough?
