So my team and I actually managed to get a game together in time for the Dream Build Play competition this year. We're pretty happy with it, you can check it out here; http://nonewdevelopments.blogspot.com/2010/03/update20100304.html

Awesome, looks like Gunstar Heroes. Consider me impressed. How many people does your team consist of?

There are three of us (four if you count the musician.) One coder (me), one artist, and one guy who sits around telling us we're not doing a good enough job.

Well done. It's nice to see that platform games are still alive and entertaining :)

I too would like to make a platform game one day... (another one to add to my list).

Good luck with the competition. I count 155 entries, so you have a good chance :)

Looks awesome! I really dig the graphical style. Will there be a demo, so we can see how it plays?
