I started a new blog, its a sarcastic guide to engineering school, including what to expect, tips to get around all the stupid things, and generally poking fun at university life.

The Subversive Guide to Engineering

Nice :)

Reading through some of your posts now and they're pretty good (not relevant at all to me, as I've already gotten through a completely different uni system, but still good :))

I agree with most of the things on there. The only thing I don't agree with is not showing up for class. There is no reason to skip classes. Just go to every one of them.

That test blog one is so true. My Linear Algebra teacher gave out a 6 page midterm and expected us to finish it in 40 minutes. It took people an hour and a half to finish it. Then my physics teacher is really bad with this. 50 minutes to take the test and it has like 3 large integrals with like 15 steps in them and tons of other questions. He designs them so that if you have to stop and think about them you won't possibly have enough time to finish. Near the end of those exams you can hear people in the back swearing to themselves as they realize they have 5 minutes left and just realize their last question is a massive integral.

Also "The thing to watch out for is that the distribution of girls across the different programs is definitely NOT even". :O Computer Science is 100:1 male/female ratio.
