Chains is a puzzle game with a unique feel and distinctive vector graphics style. The object of the game is simple - to link adjacent bubbles of the same color into chains. As you progress through the physics-driven stages it becomes increasingly more challenging and your speed, strategy and skill will be put to the test.

DOWNLOAD THE DEMO

Features
20 levels each focusing on action, strategy or flow
Physics-driven gameplay
3 difficulty modes
Unlimited replayability value
Unique art direction with beautiful vector graphics
Soundtrack from the Belgian electro band Silence

I am most interested in technical issues that you may have with running the demo. Also, I'm especially proud because Chains is the first game made with the AGen 2D. The game is 100% Lua scripted.

Thanks for your time.

1. Full Screen: title screen worked on all screen resolutions, but during game play, no graphics showed up until i selected 1280x1024. everything was fine in windowed mode.
2. the music is only on the right channel
3. during gameplay, nothing happend. it just said "clear 200" in the middle of the screen. all you could see was the blue swirly background, and some lines. nothing else. i pushed every key on the keyboard and clicked on everything and all over the place. nothing :( .

my computer:
Windows XP SP2
Intel Core2 2.13GHz
2GB RAM
Radeon X1600 Video Card

Moglor, the old beta had a bug in the timers which messed up the effects and I think it might have caused your screen to remain black.
Do you mind downloading the new beta:
http://2dengine.com/chains/demo.zip
http://2dengine.com/chains/Chains_Install.exe

I'm really interested if the game would run on your machine,
I'm not sure what the deal is with the audio but I'll look into it.
Thanks again for your time.

We've made a lot of changes (too many to list) since we started beta testing.
So I want to thank you all for the feedback.
Lastly, you can now buy the full version for USD 15.00

We're happy to present an early port of Chains for the Mac.
It's a 32-bit universal binary, but for now it's Leopard only.
Backporting to Tiger is on the way.

We'd really appreciate any feedback on whether or not it works on your machine:

Fun game! My only suggestions are to have a way to speed up the game (would be especially useful on the "link 15 or more" level), and to add more "flashy effects" for bigger combos.

Yeah, I agree with you. It wiould have been cool to have some powerups too but unfortunately the game is finished and I'm already working on a new title...

I saw it up there the other day and had to do a double-take. I was thrilled to see your title being distributed through Steam. Very cool. Congrats. 8)

Thanks a lot! My next game is going to be way better though, I've been working on it for half a year whereas Chains only took about 2-3 months.

I just saw this yesterday on a private bittorrent tracker. Even though having your game being pirated may sound bad, I personally think its great exposure for indy games. The fact that people even like your game enough to pirate it is a good sign. The comments there all seemed positive, too. So congratulations, looks like the game was a pretty big hit! :D
