Hello everyone,

I've been working on a game for a few months, using "The Games Factory". The game is called ClueLess and it's a puzzle game.

The main concept of the game is to solve the 4 levels without any instructions, by figuring out everything, including the rules, by yourself.

The game currently contains 4 levels, but I'm going to add another one or two. The game is played with the mouse movements only (the buttons are not used at all).

Please check out the game, and tell me what you think about it. Any feedback will be most welcome.

Here's the link to download the game (1.8MB):

Here are a few screenshots:

Thanks,

Lior.

Hey guys,

Lior was one of the level designers for our "Professor Fizzwizzle and the Molten Mystery" game. I suggested he come here for feedback (I already sent him mine!). If you've got a minute, please check out his game :)

I didn't like the music but that was fine as I could just switch it off, but what I did not like is something which I
think is a bug. Whilst once in game you can not exit the application, as you do not release the cursor and are still restricting its
movement. If this is meant to be a riddle as in combination with keys I would suggest that it could do without it.

As for the game yes I liked it. I think is the sort of game which some people are left wanting more levels.

Thanks for your comments.

Regarding the mouse cursor thing, yes it is a problem that I'm currently trying to solve, but it's very tough becasue the engine doesn't allow to switch mouse control over an object on and off. The user can still quit the game by pressing "Alt-F4", so maybe I will note that in the beginning.

For the most part I like it. Four levels seems way too short, which is a good sign.

I'm not sure I like the instant death on touching the walls, though I realise it plays a part in some of the puzzles. It makes the game a bit too much like one of those bendy wire games at times.

I like the lack of instructions and puzzling the levels out, each of the four levels has something completely new, and they are good ideas.

It would be good to take one puzzle idea and run with it for a few levels, adding some more complexity and twists before moving on to a new puzzle idea, grouping levels into related sets and extending the game that way. Especially if you've got ideas for another level or two, six different 'base' puzzles could comfortably become 18 - 24 levels and make this game a great diversion.

I agree about the music - its good you can turn it off! I have real problems with music in my games, I actually compose music for most of them and still find it annoying after a few minutes of playing! Oh well.

Good Times,
Nick

Thanks, Nick.

I like this idea very much. It's quite hard to find new ideas, so reusing my old ones can really strech the game.

You're right, the music may be annoying after a while, but it also adds a lot to the atmosphere, so maybe I'd use different songs in each level, in random.
