I wanted to let everyone know about Chaotic Rage (http://www.chaoticrage.com/). It's a game I've been working on for a few years now. It's had about three overhauls in that period, but it's more of a project to learn c++ better.



If anyone is interested, you can download from the website above, or fork on GitHub. It's c++/SDL/OpenGL, cross-platform (Windows/Linux is tested, but OSX should be possible too). Uses Bullet for the physics. I've built most of the engine myself. It's a bit buggy, but mostly works. Has a few cool features like destructible environments (walls etc). Network support is coming next.

Yeah it's pretty cool. It's a pretty dumb shooter; doesn't take itself too seriously.
Also, I forgot to mention, it's fully moddable (if you dare to brave my mod file format). There is an editor which partly works too.

These are from the current git master build, which will be beta7 in a week or so (I usually try to release fortnightly). It features the newest feature of a terraform weapon which I only just added today. It's quite fun. You can see it in use on the left of image 1.

Sorry about the quality, I think it's only 16-bit colour, which is a shame.

Hey everyone, beta 7 is now available. I've fixed a bunch of bugs, added a new map, and added some new features.

There is now three new weapons - the borer, the mounder and the flamethrower. The border and mounder terraform the map (up and down). The flamethrower...it shoots flames.

I've also added proper water support, so if you dig deep you will get wet.

Lastly, I duplicated the rendering code into two copies, a good-hardware one and a crappy-hardware one. If you have older hardware, you might want to try that one instead. There is a config file, I'll document it in the GitHub wiki at some point.
