Greetings all, welcome to the new home of GPWiki. Hopefully you can all see this, log in and use the forum as normal.

Please have a poke around and see if anything is broken or doesn't work like it should. If you find any problems, let me know.

It may just be my browser settings but I'm not getting any cookies. I get an ?sid= in the url instead which logs me out when I close the tab.

I do have my browser set "to accept cookies only from sites I visit". I've tried clearing all cookies containing the string 'gpwiki'.

Well spotted. Have a cookie. 8) Literally. ;)

I think I've fixed it for now. However, It'll probably break again and need tweaking once the domain name transfers over.

I can't promise it won't suck, but I have a few ideas to poke some life back into the site.

The final step, the domain name transfer is in progress, but may take up to seven days to complete.

Great work. The forums are already a vast improvement.

I had a slight issue where it said that my password hadn't migrated to the new system and needed to be resent. I put in username and email but no email arrived, but my old password worked later when I tried it?

Probably an ID10T issue.

New forums look suitable new. Hope the revised site envigourates the community a bit :)

Passwords should be the same unless you changed it in the last few minutes before the old site was locked.

I haven't tested the email system out yet. I'm waiting for the domain name to transfer properly before I set the final config.

I've read that the migration has trouble with some strong (punctuation containing) passwords, and can mess something up with the md5 hash. Even though it works for you at the moment, I don't know if that'll be the end of it because I think it does something new with the md5 hash every time your login session is refreshed, which is every few hours iirc.

It should be OK, from what I can see the pword is just an MD5 hash in the DB (I had to break into the SysOp account early in the migration).

The only thing I can think of that might have changed the hash is that I went from Latin1 to UTF8 schema which broke alot of the binary data in the cache tables.

This is happening again, as predicted.

I've reverted all the board settings to gpwki.org as the DNS seems to be resolving much better today. (Even the spambots are finding us >:(. )

Ryan said he always considered gpwiki to be owned by the community, so, um... New leadership, definitely.
