Hi,
My first topic here. And i'm looking for advice. I'm MSSQL/VB.NET programmer.
Let's say i'm not begginer.

I wish write some simple game in 2D under windows or under windows mobile. I tried write game something like 'snake' or little boy hitting dragons in head. But i wrote it using : Form1_Paint and .DrawImage ... i even readed many advices how speed up this method. But still too slow and i must write it in something ...

I'm trying find some examples for DirectDraw under VB.NET but can't find anything usefull.
If someone could send me some links with examples.

I dont know what choices i have, maybe there is some new enviroments, libraries.

Any advices?

DirectDraw has a few wrappers for VB.NET. There is a list of engines on this website, each lists what platform they are made for. Theres some DirectDraw ones for VB. I used Dabooda Turbo a while ago for VB, though im not sure if it supports .NET.

I've heard that XNA Game Studio is useable with any .NET language.. if that's the case, I'd highly reccomend XNA. Extremely high performance, extremely simple syntax.

Can you send some links ?

I have Windows 7 64 bit. ( but i can change it on other, i have to many problems with 64-bit system when i try install for example VS2005, or other )

When i write in google: +XNA +VB.NET i see examples for VS2008 + XNA game library 1.0.0.0 but cant find them.

On XNA webpage i found XNA Game library 4.0.0.0 but under C#. I tried use it in VB.net but cant find any turtorial for VB.NET.

VB2008 dont work with DLL 4.0.0.0.
So if anyone can send links for some good VB.NET turtorial.

That's correct. So download VB.NET Express 2010.
