Hi all,

Im interested in having a good go at cleaning and make the wiki nice and new and shiny again.

Im going to crack on behind the scenes slowly, but opened this thread for any suggestions or comments you think the wiki requires.

Cheers

Would be much appreciated!

Just out of curiosity, do you have any plans laid out for spiffing things up? If we have some defined approach, it may be helpful in case others decide they want to pitch in.

I'm currently thinking about the usage of the wiki more than the content at the moment. An example, I've been thinking about the homepage and the "Latest Wiki Edits" section in particular.

The only thing i can think of for using this, is to review the edits, and to verify there correctness. A maintenance tool. Im not sure, when people go to the homepage, there interested in that.

What do people want when they visit the home page? Featured image seems like the right kind of direction.

The home page was intended to be an at-a-glance summary of what's new on the site. I suppose I was a bit selfish when Clint and I put it together, as it suits my needs perfectly. :O I can see on one page if there's anything that needs checking or there's anything new on the forum.

A featured article box would probably be a better way of drawing people into the existing Wiki content. However, I do think the list of recent edits is useful as I can't be the only person who wants to be know if there's an edit or new content.

As far as re-hashing the Wiki goes, feel free. There are some existing conventions that it would be helpful to stick by (or rework if need be), but nothing can be broken beyond repair so tinker away.

The MediaWiki version we're running is a couple of minor revisions out of date, I must get around to updating it. :x
