There's a new section in off topic, the News forum.

This area will link to the new front page (not actually up yet) and provide a feed of interesting stories and news from around the web. Only members of the Newshounds group can start new threads in the forum (if you want to help out on that, drop me a PMl), but everyone can reply and discuss.
