I'm currently writing a 2d physics introduction article, and i'd like to provide some visual and interactive examples, i.e. flash.
It seem we need an extension for this.
Is there anything that would speak against having it?

If hosting them is problematic, i can put them on my own server, but they'd probably be only a few kb in size anyways.

I took a quick look at the extensions, most seem to have security concerns. Which one did you have in mind?

I didn't check indepth. I took a look if it was possible, and realized it requires an extension. I wasn't aware there are several even. I'll take another look :D

A few quick looks later:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:OFlash
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Flashlets

Flashlets has the ability to compile as3 source from the article directly, which seems handy, but as stated in the commends (although from 2007) that it might open the doors for malicious code *shrug* don't know enough about flash to make a decision based on that.

On the other hand Oflash only has an unstable release apparently and it seems much more general purpose (i.e. video embedding support)

The others are either discontinued, or removed due to security issues.

I'd like to try flashlets though, and see if it makes any problems. Otherwise i'd just put the samples on an external page.

Edit:
An alternative would be using canvas/html5/js to implement the examples. That would work aswell, but a quick google didnt turn up any extensions or otherwise info on the topic. Might that even be natively supported? If so, that would be just fine aswell.
