Any chance of us being able to set up our own colouring schemes in our options? The VB doesn't look... natural :)

No, I'd have to change it site-wide. And even then, the pages would have to be edited before the changes would take effect.

can we add this to the forum code tag..

Thus doing something like

[code=c++]
some c++ highlighting

[/code]

or

Code:

some php code hightlight

OOo seems the php one works... in that case what is the C++ text needed after the = ?

GeSHi is the plugin that handles syntax highlighting on the Wiki. The forum code tags are simply fixed width formatted like the <PRE> HTML tag.
I've found a GeSHi mod for the board that might work, I'm testing on the new server build at the moment so should have some results soon.

Thanks, will see how it goes.

Tonight's testing went well. I've switched to Nginx (from Apache) and so far everything is working fine. I'm hoping to set up SSO for the Wiki using the forum logins. That's for tomorrow though.

There seem to be some random issues with the shared authentication of sessions between phpBB and MediaWiki. The plugin code isn't that huge or complex, so I figure I'll try to tweak it and understand what's going on better.

On a side note, I got ShellInaBox running on the dev server and I'm sorting out the DNS and virtual sites in a more logical manner.

Yay! Single Sign On works!

Before you go charging off to the Wiki, I've only implemented it on my test server so far, but there's no reason why it can't be done here when I roll over to the new box.

Under the new system, logged in forum users will automatically get logged onto the Wiki when they visit it (even if they don't have an account). 8) Forum account re-names will be slightly trickier, but that's the trade off.

Next up, syntax highlighting EVERYWHERE!

I'm not quite on top of syntax highlighting yet, but I've had an easy win butchering the Spoiler tags to make a source code container as a starting point.

You can now use the [CodeListing] BBCode tag to encapsulate monospaced code listings.

Code Listing: Expand
import csv

# write stocks data as comma-separated values
writer = csv.writer(open('stocks.csv', 'wb', buffering=0))
writer.writerows([
('GOOG', 'Google, Inc.', 505.24, 0.47, 0.09),
('YHOO', 'Yahoo! Inc.', 27.38, 0.33, 1.22),
('CNET', 'CNET Networks, Inc.', 8.62, -0.13, -1.49)
])

# read stocks data, print status messages
stocks = csv.reader(open('stocks.csv', 'rb'))
status_labels = {-1: 'down', 0: 'unchanged', 1: 'up'}
for ticker, name, price, change, pct in stocks:
status = status_labels[cmp(float(change), 0.0)]
print '%s is %s (%s%%)' % (name, status, pct)

Looks good, safes space :)

Code Listing: Expand
dim isaT as string = " is a troll"
dim NewbieUser001 as noob = new noob("Eric",14,"1337 prOgRamErR!!!111")
NewbieUser001.troll = true

if(NewbieUser001.troll == true) then
textbox1.text = "User " & NewbieUser001.name & isaT
end if
dim yay as string = "YAAAAAAAY IT WORKS! :3 EXPAND ALL THE CODELISTINGS!!!"

while(true)
MsgBox(yay)
do

I have no idea what I just created... but oh well :D
