Hi,

I'll like to share a game idea, and I saw you have a Game Ideas page. But you can only paste your idea in that page, and there aren't place to someone tell its a good or a bad idea, or know someone want want to make the game.

Is the forum a good place to share a game idea?

There's a saying that ideas are a dime a dozen (or even less). People won't make your game for you unless someone else wants to use their time and ability to help you. Do you have a lot of money to offer? You can try to buy a game programmer, artists and other developers to make the game. It will probably be very costly.

Another option is to make the game yourself. If you wish to learn to program then this forum or gamedev.net (in the For Beginners forum) are a good place to ask where to start. Link to the beginners page on the gdwiki.

Basically ideas won't get you very far. It's all in the implementation for the most part.

If you're interested in game design then there are other ways to do things. You can try level design and such.

Yeah, forums are good for discussing this sort of thing. However, it is very difficult to guess exactly what the game will be like to play from just reading about it. Often, the tiniest details can make/break games.

For example, imagine playing super mario, except the controls were a tiny bit less responsive. Perhaps just one extra frame of lag. I imagine that this would change the fun-ness a lot. Or if the level design was lame. etc

So do feel free to bring up ideas for discussion, but take the comments on it with a grain of salt. If you can get a playable prototype, then that would help you a lot in making decisions.
