Start with the computer you have and some free software. Emailing you kind of defeats the purpose of a message board :)

I think RPG maker and game maker can help you to build some game.

if you go there and download the full iso at the bottom of the page, it contains all express editions for vb.net, c#, c++, and its all free.

can we not add a date cutoff so that (by default) a forum only displays posts which have been replied to within the past 2 months?

Then if a person deselects that default option, they'd know they were looking at old posts. I know that I never check the post date, only the time :)

Alternatively, mark old posts automatically by using a paler blue colour for their titles. :)

I think, ideally, threads should automatically lock after, say, a month of inactivity.

I agree. I understand the reason behind not locking them (someone may come along and bump it up with new and useful info) but evidence shows this isn't occuring. Lock old threads and if someone wants extra detail on a particular subject then they can start a new thread and link to the old one (just like people currently do, except with a link in it ;))

I dunno...when I'm searching on the web for stuff, and I find a topic in some forum about my problem, it sure is helpful if someone has posted a working solution to the problem I'm looking for; if they start a new thread and link to the old one, it's a lot harder to find :\
