I'm a geography teacher and want to create a fairly simple geography practice game. I don't want to be a programmer, I want to find someone that knows how to program and would be willing to work with me. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi,

I depends if you're willing to pay.
Sites like http://www.vworker.com/, http://www.getacoder.com/ or http://www.freelancer.com/ allow you to place a request and freelancers will bid to deliver it. They will want to be paid though.
If you want it for free or low cost, I expect you'll need to find a like minded person who doesn't mind giving up their time, feel free to ask here, but you may draw a blank.
You don't mention the age of your students, but if they're computer literate, you might find one of them has an interest in coding.

Hi Mr Teacher.

It depends on what you're aiming for.
Eventhough this seems to be for educational use i don't suppose you will be able to find someone that is realizing your idea for free.

I'd suggest looking at places like the tigsource forums. They have Subforums dedicated for collaboration and hiring. Else you can try portals that advertise programming jobs like stackoverflow.com.

Just as a side note:
You should be more elaborate on the whole project if you're really willing to get people interested, else they might just ignore your endeavor.

Just to complement what they said, there are several tools to make easier the development of games. I know you said you do not want to learn to programming, but some of these tools are very easy to use:

Game Maker(there is a limitated free version)
Construct Classic(free)

You may want to look for projects that aim to make educational software.
I know one, namely kdeedu, but I am not interested in that direction, so there may be more.

Another direction could be to look at existing software and see whether you can 'bend' your ideas into it.
