Java and Flash are now the attack route for most exploits as they allow cross platform attacks.

Microsoft has worked hard on improving security in recent versions of Windows. Getting off this list is quite a feat for an OS that is widely regarded as buggy and insecure.

Yay Windows!

After watching some Mark Russinovich clips on youtube and channel9; I have found new admiration for Windows. Seems they got the short end of the stick with crappy drivers giving the OS a bad name. If you're at all interested in debugging Windows problems, check out "Case of the Unexplained".

That's good. I have Flash disabled by default. I don't even have Java installed... I love it not being around me. Great sauce. The Java Runtime sucks. Same with Flash... I wish I didn't need to use it as often as I do. Stupid principles of natural monopoly!

Java is a full blown general purpose programming language.
Perhaps you are confusing it with Javascript (which is a completely different language)?
