Now this is a weird decision by Microsoft. Banning out a large chunk of the mature games may lead to a few curious things, one of them will be a lot of ranting by the community.

As the article mentions it may lead to developers considering going for a lower age rating to get more exposure, and i don't like that one bit. I cringe every time i cannot dismember even a robot in the german (and thus censored) version of Fallout 3. I don't want that to happen to other games on original releases.

There is the whole 'Violent games make people do violent things' thing that keeps getting dragged up every few months.

The UK has a 'newspaper' that is well known for crusades against popular topics. They seem to be a bit confused about whether violent games are good or bad:

The publishers have to tread a fine line between giving people want they want and avoiding the wrath of the general public. Games are still seen as kids playthings in many walks of life so I understand why Microsoft would do this even if I don't agree with it.
