Nintendo are to post losses in the region of $20bn, a long way from the predicted return to profit that have been forecast.

The Wii-U does not seem to be getting any traction, but the company is set to flood the market with new games in the hope of bringing back profits.

I don't really know anything about the Wii-U... and perhaps therein lies Nintendo's problem.

I don't recall much advertising for it. I'm sure there must've been a marketing campaign but it definately missed me. I wonder how many other people out there simply aren't aware of it or at least don't have many details on it?

Right. I only heard of it through complete dumb luck, and even then it didn't look terribly interesting. (What is with the controller? It looks like an oversized bottom half of a 3DS...)

The controller is one of the problems. You get one in the box, but if you need a replacement or want another for multiplayer, you're looking at $89 ($145)!

I know. You can buy a PSP or a DSi with a handful of games for that. I'd have more fun with those.

(And yes, I could also purchase a crate of PC games for that price, but it doesn't illustrate the gaming hardware value difference quite the same.)

I just can't wait for them to go out of business.

If I called the shots, I'd sacrifice Apple to save Nintendo, though. ;)

Yeah and I would sacrifice all of the businesses mentioned in the Atari bankruptcy topic for my own wallet.

Agreed. I wish I had super powers so that I could "will" them into bankruptcy.

Once a politician thought that, probably.
