Thank you for all the birthday wishes. :)

Now to deal with the aftermath. (My inbox is flooded with Facebook email notifications regarding people posting birthday wishes to my wall... looks like I'm going to have to put up with FB for a while today so I can say 'thank you' to everyone. There are certain perks that come along with only having 60 Facebook friends. :rolleyes)

I share your sentiment.

Seems like not long after I started frequenting his VB Gaming site, he spirited himself away for a couple years. Then he just shows up out of nowhere and says, "it's last call -- if you're too drunk too drive yourself to this new GPWiki.org deal, hail a cab."

Then when Grubby Games and such came about, he disappeared again... this time it seems he took about 70% of the old hats with him.

Stuff just ain't the same.

I'm not saying I like the way it turned out, but until Lucky emails me a recruitment plea to join an army to invade the corporate headquarters of Big Fish -- I will continue to assume that he is not horribly upset over the results. :)
I wouldn't wait too long, it appears he left the company late last year (http://ca.linkedin.com/in/ryanmclark)

I tested for dozens of indies off of this site and lucky's back in the day, and Ryan was the only one to actually make enough to live off it - probably by working far to hard for far too little.

Pity the site doesn't indicate which games the vancouver office worked on, i'm kind of curious.

My game programming knowledge is a little outdated these days - 9 years of working with in-house code and tools.
The last 'indie' stuff I did was actually working with Ryan testing MyTribe and the Fizzwizzle games back in 08.
