UK is stupidly hot at the moment. It's been over 30°C (86°F) for a week or so now.

Where I'm from, 30°C != "stupidly hot", rather it's "Mild".
Over here during summer, we typically have a few days to a week of 42°C (107°F) or so. It's so hot you can't think of a proper name for it. "Hot as hell" perhaps? On top of that, they measure the temperature 1m off the ground under shade
; on a 42 degree day, it's more like 50-55 degrees in the sun. You can only imagine the temperature of black asphalt on those days.
As for right now, well we are starting to come out of winter. It's still chilly, but not too bad. The forecast for today is 19 degrees, but we got down to 9 last night. It was colder about a month ago (3-4 degrees at night). I guess compared to some other areas of the world, it's still pretty warm, considering we are still above zero most of the time.
