I seem to be visiting the cinema more than I used to. My lad loves Superhero movies and I've ended up taking him to see most of the recent releases.
However, I'm in the same boat as Clint on the cinema experience. I hate sitting near people who talk all through the film, I'm staggered that people need to check their phones every five minutes and I'm getting old, so I invariably have to do the sideways walk along the row of seats to go to the bathroom at least once per movie. :\

I read some interesting discussion on the crazy prices of cinema food and drink recently. It seems that the margin made by the theatre on tickets is minimal and the studios charge big money to provide the films, so high priced snacks and expensive arcade games are the only way to keep the movie house going. Doesn't make it any better, but at least I understand why a bag of sweets costs 5x the RRP.

As I said, I never had this negative experience with cinema, not even phones or noisy kids. And I really enjoy the big screen and sound.

I don't find the food and drink so expensive because really I can go the whole movie with nachos and sauce. Even tho I mostly eat it before the movie even starts :D ... But once the movies is running I enjoy my self too much to worry about food or drinks :D.
I mean sure, it is expensive but the low ticket price compensates for that.

I would have no problem dealing with the backlash. :)
