So, does anyone have an Android project in the works?

My Android port of TouchRoids is getting there, but I'm thinking of overhauling the state system to make it a bit more flexible.

I made an Android game with two other guys for one of my uni courses. Such a shame I don't own an Android phone :'-(

I just started messing around with android. I decided to port a simple solitaire game i made a while back just to see how things work.
I just got a "free" android "tablet" for attending a ridiculous vacation package presentation. I say "free" because it cost 20 bucks for shipping (not to mention sitting through a sales pitch |I ), and i say "tablet" because its more of an e-reader similar to the nook color. I hope nothing goes wrong with it because there is absolutely no support online for it. Anyone else heard of the SlicK Web Surfer?

I saw an ad for it in some shopping circular in last week's newspaper. It was on some holiday sale at... Fred's Discount store... or maybe Dollar General... either way, you could have bought one for around $30, or maybe it was $40, IIRC (and you wouldn't have had to sit through a sales pitch... at least one over the phone ;) ).

I imagine if you don't have any elevated expectations for an electronics device that retails at a fraction of its peers, then it should work fine... assuming that in a month or so it will still turn on, the touch works, and the battery still holds a charge, etc. The low-end Android tablets tend to have a lot of problems with hardware failure (and their share of software shortcomings, of course).

Hmm Android 2.2, 1Ghz CPU, not bad at all. Shame about the limited RAM.

You can just work with the emulator if your device don't last (or you don't have one at all). However, it runs reeeealy slowly and I think it's much nicer to run your project on a real device.

The good thing about developing on a slow emulator is that if you can get your program to run good on it, it will run great on the real thing. theoretically.
