Hello one and all.

I' am new to this site, not wikipedia but this particular page, and is trying to find an answer to my problem. Having reached the bottom of the barrel and with a time limit of 11:59P.M. this saturday of July 21, 2012 I need help, now.

The problem is this, I need to know about vertex programming and how it helps designers improve the speed of graphics rendering in OpenGL. I have searched and cannot find any info on the subject. The only thing I'm getting is links to sites that sell vertex programming software. Yes, you might of guessed but this is about an assignment for my school. I'm not asking anyone to do it for me, just give me some info or a site that i can go to so I can research it myself. Just remember that I' ve only been programming for 2 years and the first year was all theory, meaning no actual physical programming practice; basically I'm saying that I'm a noob. I also barely understand how to use OpenGL if at all.

If anyone can help me then please do.
