If anybody can help me, where could I find 3d models (FREE DOWNLOADABLE or IF SOMEONE HAVE SUCH, CAN YOU POST IT SOMEWHERE TO BE DOWNLOADABLE, PLZ?) with standard animations: walking, running, some attack(or that I could customize then) and so on?
It would be best to have it in 3DS format, so I can open it in 3Ds Max and then edit it or possibly create new animations by moving bones in new way.

I need it to be prototype for prerendering characters into bitmap animations for my games, where humanoid characters are used.
The most important that I need is - the correct bone animation made with stand and walk animation applicable for any skin. The skins would be my customizations, as for the humanoid characters in games mostly have all the same animations with different skins. Imagine all Fallouts - 1, 2, even Fallout Tactics and observe the animations - you can see it's the same with different skins. I need something like that. But does anyone of you here in the forum know about for example open-source Fallout Tactics models?
Or this is secretary stuff of designers that will never be brought to surface?

Is there any reason you can't use Poser? It is made specifically for 3D character animation, and would probably work better than any free models you might find. Lots of ways to animate and customize your models, and you can do non-photorealistic renderings easily. It's not the cheapest, but I assume that since you are a 3DS user, you can either afford the retail price or otherwise get it through the same channels you got 3DS through.

There's most likely a demo version on the Smith Micro site, so give it a whirl and see what comes out of it.

Ok, but one is important. Does Poser have ability to pre-render and save to bitmap (whole animation sequences, if possible) ?
Or can Poser anims export to 3DSMax?

My aim of models is for RPG such as Fallouts are - Fallout Tactics, the best because of 8 directions (while F1 and F2 have only 6 directions)
The template is needed where animations are solved in bone animations, on which I just put skins.
Or if this can't be possible, maybe I'll try remaking ripped FT animations (in GIF) in bitmap by pixels, maintaining the important skeleton.
Which way would you prefer, being in my place?

Yes, Poser can render to bitmaps in multiple formats. I'm also fairly certain that you can export the models to 3DS format (though I'm not 100% sure about that, and I'm using an older version of the software). But still, it is easier just to use Poser for the character animations, since it was built specifically for animating 3D characters.

I've used it in some older projects with good results.

Say, could it be possible to have maybe older versions of Poster, for FREE - just download? You know, this is the way many programs go in their older versions - since there are far newer versions of the softwares, the older come to be released for free.

Not that I know of... I have Poser 4 (which is ancient, but anyway), and it still sells used on the Amazon Marketplace for about $75. The current publisher (Smith Micro) doesn't seem to like releasing older software for free... they buy the rights to a lot of fairly niche software and milk it for all they can.
