Hi all. Yeah, I've been told that Pascal isnt exactly a language used for game dev. but I picked up a really cheap book on it, and i figure that having another language under my belt can never be a particularly BAD thing so I'll give it a fair go. Anyhoo, I'm curious as to which pascal IDE is the easiest to work with (I've looked at FreePascal and I would like to call it something that would be in violation of the terms and conditions LOL). Does anyone know of a good one? Cheers.

I'll only make one reply:
'Pascal, a language named after a french mathematicion who, if he knew about it, would be spinning in his grave'.

As a note, it isn't usually bad to have several languages under your belt, but with the number of posts you have made with basic(ish) VB and C++, I would suggest learning one language really well and then starting to branch out. Not only will you find it easier in the long run, you will also have a main language to fall back on that you know really well :)

Have to agree with workmad here. If you want to do game development, learn a language that's being widely used. Pascal is not one of them. I highly recommend C# and XNA Game Studio.

I'm sure we'll still disagree about a good number of other things, so don't worry. :)

true... just worried.

I guess it could just be a cold shower in hell, rather than a full-on blizzard :P
