Hello, I am l3gendArch3r (or Matt, please call me Matt).

I was wondering, I am deciding to learn C# but I can't find any good places to learn. Could anyone link me to and books or internet tutorials of where they learnt? And does C# fall under C?

Thanks,
Matt

Theres lots of great sites out there for learning languages, but IMO for something like this your best bet is a good book. I would reccomend the Deitel Developer Series. The book I read was "C# A Programmer's Introduction". It was an excellent book, explained everything clearly and thoroughly. You can probably find it on Amazon or Ebay or whatever. (or even your local library)

C# does 'fall under' the C family of languages. They made C, then C++ (the name of which is actually lame programmer humour) then they made C# which is native to Microsoft's ".NET framework".

Thanks :) The next time I head up to the library I'm sure to look for it :)

The best 'learn C#' book I have read is "C# 2008 Step by Step", by John Sharp. Its a bit outdated, but still really well written. :yeah

C-Sharp; John Sharp.... get it? Oh, nevermind. ;)

I've started using Tutorila's tutorials and they are really good! I'm also surprised how easy it is since I have a bit of Java knowledge too. I'm only up to their 4th tutorial and I've already coded a program which I want to release :) It's very basic to code but very hard to "answer".

There is a tutorial for a simple game written in C# (a version of 'snake') in Game Coder Mag. You can download it for free from http://gamecodermag.com/game-coder-mag-12012/. Maybe it will be helpful. Cheers and Good Luck!
