Sorry if this project is dead already, but as a writer, I just have to point out somthing that really bugs me...this use of "kinesis" as a suffix to psionic ability names. You see, "kinesis" refers to kinetic energy, that is, motion. Not, as many seem to think, a mental ability. Thus, it is not an appropriate suffix to use in this context.

By contrast, the prefix "psycho" does refer to the mind, and thus is appropriate to use with terms. For example, the common (and incorrect) term "pyrokinesis" could be replaced by the more acurate descriptor "psychocombustion". Additionally, the shorter prefix "tele", which means "far" or "at a distance" is commonly used in reference to paranormal mental phenomina. For example, telekinesis, the term which is responsible for this misconception, actually means "motion at a distance". So, as an example, the ability to cause halucinations might be termed "teleprojection" or even "psychoprojection".

I apologize for ranting so much, but this is a simple matter of the English language, which is easilly avoidable. I offer this message as a public service. Thank you for reading.

There's no such thing as a simple matter of the English language. :) Just look at the inclusion of the word w00t into the language. ;)

Hmmz, and after all, their just fancy words for 'buncha crooks'. So i may i suggest you use that or a similar term? ;)

These kind of people tend to stick 'quantum' or 'science' in front of everything, just so that it sounds scary, and probably a lil techy.

Well, I think the "-kinesis" suffix still fits, if not perfectly. For example, "pyrokinesis" can mean motion/movement of fire, ie. control of fire, which I think is fairly accurate.

Being a writer you should know that "psychocombusion", "teleprojection", and "psychoproject" are all combinations of Greek and Latin roots. tsk tsk :)

To paraphrase you, this is a simple matter of the Greek language, which is easilly avoidable.

Other options:
* pyropsychosis
* telepyris

Not sure if the grammar is absolutely correct on those, but you get the point :)

In this case, something like pyrokinesis is fairly commonly accepted term for the ability to control fire as a psionic power. The longer term 'psychopyrokinesis' may be more accurate in terms of the original meanings, but is less memorable and doesn't fit as nicely as pyrokinesis. Not to mention that it is normally a case of 'the psionic power of pyrokinesis' which would be correct, as opposed to 'the psionic power of psychopyrokinesis/psychocombustion' which would then be 'the mind power of controlling/creating fire with your mind'... notice the redundancy? :P
