I haven't lost interest. I'm just up and above my ears with work right now. many people is on vacation, so I have to fill in for them. I'll prolly get alive and kicking about a week or so (maybe two)

I'm still waiting on that concept art so I ca get something interesting going for eye-candy for the model. :P

Lets just blame it all on Lars for being so damned swamped. :spin

Ok, I'm back. My problem is, I haven't been able to get it to compile under winxp with Code::Blocks. it gives me bunches of errors.

As much as I hate to admit it, that is very good advice. I did get an Ogre project to compile under mingw/gcc/CB, but it requires stlport, and that means that EVERY library you use has to be built with stlport. Let me just say right now, that severely limits the number of libraries that you can include without building them yourself. If you switch over to vc8, you won't have to deal with stlport, and I can guarantee you will have an easy time linking in any library that you come across. And, if you get, vc8 you might as well get Visual Studio 2005, as it has an excellent debugger. There is also a ready-made Ogre template project for vc8 that *gasp* actually works the first time. However, if you still want to compile under mingw/stlport/CB, I can show you how.

Personally, I think it's not a hard choice between VC and other alternatives. VC's debugger and functionality is just great.

If you use vc8 then you will have to recompile the majority of libraries for it to work as vc8 and vc7 are not compatible. I thought they were at first but its simply not true. I ended up having to recompile about 10 libraries or so to get my project to work in vc8 because everyone releases vc6 or vc7 and not vc8. This is really one of the nicer things about linux, you don't have to deal with libraries nearly as much. all you have to do is install the development version from your packagemanager and it all works.

There wasn't much recompiling involved at all.

The programmers don't need to be waiting on you. :(

Hmm, maybe I'll throw together a running Ogre engine framework tonight in my spare time to get you guys back on track. ;)

We have a framework, it just doesn't handle all input. If you want to play, grab the code from the SVN.

Well, you guys get programming, and I'll get off my lazy ass and work on the website soon enough, and when Lars finally get the concept art done, I'll model the character, and we'll have our first piece of content. :)

I'm thinking of saying [censored] making buttons, I'll get some free ones from the internet, and throw some text on 'em.
