In the 10+ years on the VB gaming and related forums (including this one), none of the projects have ever completed.. so it's based on historical statistics ;).

Yeah, nobody can ever agree on anything enough to get anything finished. And people lose interest if it isn't the game they want to be making.

That's how the Dutch Polder model works as well. And if they do agree.. no one is happy with the result. *sigh* |I :)

Cool! I can be assured that at least one community project gets done then. :)

But don't forget that for it to be a community project you must share the code.

This is where most community projects take off--after there's a decent codebase and it is shared for all to see :)

Yeah... that sounds more like the definition of an open source project than a community project.

Same, But personalyl I don't think it's a community project unless multiple people [of a community] work on it actively though, but that's just my definition :).

I didn't necessarily say open source it, although that would fit my ideals :-).

If you don't offer the chance for others help out, then it's not a community project. Doing it by yourself is a good way to attract people interested in helping out, but if you don't let them help out, it's certainly not a community project.

That was the whole point though, others don't help out so I'd have to do it myself. :)
