You can't run far or fast enough to escape the long arm of Microsoft! :)

I've noticed for a while that my name was missing from this list of project members. I've hesitated to say anything because I've been having second thoughts about participating. I stopped reading many of the threads days ago, mostly because there were so many, and some were near duplicate and repetative.

Anywho, I just got back from work, where I have a log of free time now, and finished writing a summary of the story for my game that I've been working on for months now. And I LIKE it! :D

Next step is to show it to my friend, who has taken an interest in my story and has offered awesome suggestions, and even to write the story (though that offer may not still be on the table).

Anyways, if all goes well, I may be jumping right back into my project (I've been lacking enthusiasm) and hence backing out of this one. I honestly don't think I'll be missed because it doesn't look like I'm needed first of all, what with my lack of contributable skill, and second no one has noticed my absence the past week. (Not trying to make ya'll feel guilty).

Just thought I'd let everyone know. You guys seem to be running well with this, so best of luck!
:spin

You'll be the 2nd loss, as The-Moon notified me that he's dropping out. We'll be sorry to see you go if you decide to leave. We're finally starting to ramp up and it's going to get interesting I think. 8)

Well, my other option is to present my story to the members.
Like I said, I've been mulling over this story for a while, and for my game I have certain things in mind. I am, of course, picky about my creation.

The only reason I didn't offer my story previously is because it seems like everyone wants to have magic in the game, of which I'm not a big fan at the moment.

Heh, like I'd get you all to work on my game for me. :P

Its actually looking like I will be dropping out, since I've already begun programming again.

I'll add your name. If possible you might want to jump on the GP IRC channel as a lot is discussed there. Also, check out the SourceForge page, get SVN up and running and grab the latest code and get your environment set up. You can then check out the Current Assignments thread for things that need to be done and see what interests you.

If this is a dead thread... I apologize, didn't see anything about it being dead...

Is this project still going on? If so, any updates on it?

Yeah, I think it hit the same fate most community projects do. Everyone around here just seems to busy with either school and work with their own projects they have already started in their spare time. I at least haven't heard a single thing about the project in probably a few months now.

Yeah, everyone pretty much gave up. I'm hoping to resurrect it at some point. It's a good idea.

If I was better with programming and knew more than just VB.net (I'm trying to learn C++ and Java) I would jump in... But I'm still consider a newb in programming. =(
