Before I say anything else, I want to apologise for my lack of being online and posting. And yes, I know that most of you probably haven't seen any of my posts before but that is because I am relatively new to GPWiki. Now then, on to the matter at hand.

What is this? I haven't seen anything about this before? What is it? A movie? A video game? A book? Who knows? The only details so far are that it's releasing this year? And who is creating the odd thing? L3gendArch3r? Only God knows. And in the world of the Ghost of John, there is no god.

Well, actually, you, the members of GPWiki know, that it's a game I am working on. Well, at least you do now. Ghost of John is a game in it's early development about an alternate universe haunted by the Ghost of John. You will also encounter the Ghost of Tom, and the Ghost of The CoD Franchise.

GOJ is a RPG developed in Slick (A LWJGL library) (at the moment, as I may scrap the whole idea and make it a third person RPG in UDK, or something), I am currently using graphics from http://www.dragon-warrior.com/Images/Tile_Sets.shtml as placeholders, and will most likely not end up in the full game. The graphics are going to be NES styled (no, it is not laziness, it is my lack of skill ;) ) which are made in Paint.NET. Also, the game is going to be [u]$$$FREE$$$[/u]

That's all I feel I will release until the release of the full trailer.

Ghost of john, where have i heard that before. oh right, its the main character of the game i'm working on :P (see here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11608) Curious little coincidence :D

Interesting 'teaser' though. The music is great, the rest is barely teasing anything so far :)
Looking forward to it anyways :D

Ohhh f***. I've never acutally heard of your game before, but clicking on the link and reading it makes me feel strange. I originally got the name from the song I sang in kindergarten, about 10 years ago. Please don't sue me, I don't want this to end up as another Bethesda vs Mojang ;)

Also, the reason I was linked to thenewboston's tutorials was because it was still in my clipboard from when I had a mental blank on keyboard input :P

Nope. Not even close. :P I live in a small shanty about 17 miles away from the last bastion of civilization on the outskirts of a tiny village in East-Central Louisiana. Our dial-up goes up to 28.8kbps here!

Hah. Dial-Up :P Well, I guess you'll need to find someway to fly to Sydney, if you want to earn the title of The Ghost of John.

EDIT: Also, I finished the design of the world map. I made it using Tiled, and the tileset from http://www.dragon-warrior.com/Images/Tile_Sets.shtml, thought I compiled it so it was compatible with Tiled.

I think it may be worth taking a second or two to figure out some kind of scale? One tile = A chest = A house = A tree? I cant imagine how big the character will be?

Nononono. I have the "path" worked out (The game is going to be fairly linear). Each tile will be an "area". Each area varies in size. Ordinary path areas are going to all be the same size, towns will probably be the same size, dungeons will vary in size.
