Hi,

I am looking for software that allows for the following functions:

- Animating 3d models; though nothing fancy, mainly matrixes, structures, etc.;

- Programming the locations within this model, so that it becomes 'interactive'. Doesn't really matter which language.


Or, if no such integrated program exists; any two programs that work well together for the functions.

Do say so if I'm not being clear enough - I have a specific goal in mind, but it's a bit hard to explain when I don't know the proper terms.

Are you looking for a Skeletal animation package? Cal3D or Animadead are good starting points.

I'm pretty sure Blender can do this.

When using skeletal animations you can use bones to locate positions within a model, say the hand for instance and attach items to it, like the weapon, or gloves or whatever you want to do. Sounds like pretty much exactly what you need. And yes, blender can do this, as 3dsmax, and pretty much every other 3d modeling tool
