Alright i have spent a year learning visual basic, and I have made countless applications with different ideas. They all have different uses and I tried to do everything that has been done before in it.
So my question is, where do I go from here if I want to make a simple side scroller? that has the ability to use inventory, pick up weapons, and have the ability to have a tool bar area. I want to be able to do all of this with something is relativily close to VB. What are your ideas on something that is easy to jump into with a lot of expiernce in VB.

Not really familiar with the world of VB anymore but you could look into using XNA with VB.NET and following a tutorial such as this http://www.riemers.net/eng/Tutorials/XN ... ries2d.php to get started.
